Antacid

Indication

Geltacid Tab is used as antacid. It is also indicated for use in gastric ulcer and peptic ulcer. It is used in the treatment of hyperacidity, hyperphosphataemia, temporary relief of the symptoms associated with gastric acidity and dyspepsia.

Dosage and Administration

1 to 2 tablets to be chewed and swallowed with a glass of water or as directed by the physician.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

Magnesium Trisilicate B.P .... 492 mg

Aluminium Hydroxide Magnesium Carbonate Co-dried Gel ... 260 mg.

Contraindication

Contraindicated in hypophosphataemia and hypersensitivity. Avoid in patients with hepatic coma, if there is a risk of renal failure.

Precaution

Avoid or used at a reduced dose due to increased risk of toxicity.

Due to astringent properties, it can cause nausea, vomiting, constipation, chalky taste, stomach cramps, diarrhoea and intestinal obstruction. Drug Interaction

It should not be given with other drugs because they may impair absorption.

Store below 30°C in cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach and sight of children.
